The first four months of this year were favorable for wind parks operating in Lithuania. The volume of electricity produced in them increased by almost 13 percent compared to the same period last year.<\/p>\n

According to the data of the power exchange Baltpool, in April wind parks operating in Lithuania produced 137.2 GWh of electricity. This is 18.9 percent more than in the fourth month of last year. In total, almost 638.2 GWh of electricity was produced in the first four months \u2013 12.8 percent more than during the same period last year.<\/p>\n

“The country’s wind parks, which demonstrated extremely high production results in the first quarter of this year, did not slow down in April either. In total, the amount of electricity produced in four months is almost 45 percent of the result achieved in the whole of last year. This was due to both favorable weather conditions and the constantly growing technical reliability of wind turbines,\u201d says Aistis Radavi\u010dius, the CEO of the Lithuanian Wind Power Association.<\/p>\n

During the first quarter of this year, the country’s wind parks produced just over 500.9 GWh of electricity.<\/p>\n

There are currently 23 wind parks operating in Lithuania, with a combined capacity of 480 MW. Together with individual wind turbines, there is a total of 533 MW of installed wind power capacity in Lithuania.
